Writing

Building, marketing, moving countries, and whatever else is on my mind. A lot of it has nothing to do with work.

  1. Alen at a laptop beside mocked-up job ads showing hourly pay and shifts, with notes reading empty channel, 2 days from idea to launch, and per hire not per click

    · marketing, ads

My first ads were job listings

I was sixteen. A recruiting company was finding candidates by posting in Facebook groups, and nobody in the industry was buying ads.

  2. A kid on a BMX at a skatepark, next to a bag labelled 300 stickers, 30 shekels, and handwritten notes reading 30 in, 200 sold, a lot learned

    · business, marketing

My first business was 300 stickers

I was twelve. I spent thirty shekels, sold about two hundred stickers at the skatepark, and the whole thing was over in a week.

  3. Start Before You Know How, over a sketch of an Arduino board, a breadboard and a small robot

    · learning, electronics

Alen, how do you know this?

For years people asked how I knew things we had never been taught. The answer was boring, and I think that is the point.
